New preprint on the pyrin inflammasome
Check out our new preprint in BioRxiv by Flora and colleagues on the discovery of novel activators of the pyrin inflammasome.
Flora discovered that specific sex hormone catabolites, namely etiocholanolone and pregnanolone can activate pyrin through a novel mechanism. This response is likely to contribute to inflammation in a subset of patients suffering for pyrin-associated autoinflammatory diseases.
