Pulmonary infection

K. Moreau, PU / F. Vandenesch, PU-PH / A. Doléans-Jordheim, MCU-PH

We have previously analysed the different types of interactions between S. aureus and P. aeruginosa in the context of pulmonary chronic infection and established their impact. We are currently exploring the strain evolution during chronic infections (as in Cystic Fibrosis) to determine phenotypic and genomic traits of evolution.

In the SARMuco project (VLM financial support), we are focusing to the epidemiology and adaptation process of SARM strains in this context of chronic infection.

As part of the ANR Print@Lung project and in collaboration with E. Petiot (ICBMS, Lyon), F. Archer (IVPC, Lyon) et S. Paul (GIMAP, Saint Etienne) we aim to develop a relevant human lung model by 3D bioprinting to study the impact of co-infection and the impact of bacterial strain evolution on host tissue response.

And in the context of ANR POPS project, in collaboration with A. Le Gouellec (TIMC, GrenobLe ) and LF. Nothias (ICN, Nice), we are seeking to decipher the role of polyamines in the interactions between S. aureus and P. aeruginosa and their impact on S. aureus. Through these projects, we aim to gain a deeper understanding of the molecular interactions between these two pathogens and their clinical implications.
