RNA and regulation

K. Moreau, PU / F. Vandenesch PU-PH

In collaboration with the team led by P. Romby and S. Marzi (IBMC - Strasbourg, France) in the context of the ANR SaRNAmod project, we identified 57 modification enzymes of tRNA and rRNA in S. aureus. These modifications can affect codon-anticodon pairing and the speed, efficiency and fidelity of translation. Several mutant strains have been built to explore the impact of post-transcriptional RNA modifications on the virulence of S. aureus and seeking to decipher the underlying molecular mechanisms.
