Quand ? Le 04/06/2024,
de 09:00 à 14:00

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) will host a half-day meeting between the Structure Fédérative de Recherche (SFR) Biosciences, the Centre International de Recherche en Infectiologie (CIRI), and IARC personnel on Tuesday 4 June from 9:00 to 14:00 Lyon time. The aim of this event is to foster collaboration and promote the exchange of knowledge among scientists from local institutes.

IARC Director Dr Elisabete Weiderpass and Dr Uzma Hasan and Dr Thierry Walzer of CIRI will welcome participants to the meeting. IARC researchers and partners will then present their respective institutes’ laboratories, technical expertise, and research projects. The event will also include a poster session.

SFR Biosciences is a collaboration that provides biologists, the academic community, and industry with a shared pool of resources and technical core facilities specialized in four areas: animal sciences, from cells to organisms, protein sciences, and cellular and genetic technologies. Its collaborators are researchers in major fields of biology, such as infectious diseases, cell biology, plant biology, protein biochemistry, bioinformatics, structural biology, molecular evolution, genomics, immunology, and microbiology. The main objective of SFR Biosciences is to develop highly efficient technological core facilities for the entire scientific community, in close cooperation with the contributing research centres in Lyon. Many of the institutes involved in SFR Biosciences are located in the Lyon Biodistrict.
