Respiratory coinfections
Respiratory infections involve a wide variety of pathogens, including viruses, bacteria and fungi. Our team is interested in the interactions between these infectious agents at the level of the respiratory epithelium. To do this, we combine microbiology, cell biology and molecular biology approaches, using different experimental models of co-infections: virus/virus, virus/bacteria or virus/fungi, in a reconstituted human epithelium system and in various physiopathological contexts.
Our goal is to better understand the multiple interactions between pathogens and host cells, as well as the underlying mechanisms that can modulate the severity of respiratory infections. This research aims to identify relevant biomarkers and contribute to the development of more effective antimicrobial strategies.
