Dr. Nicolas BIDERE (UMR_S 1232 Centre de Recherche en Cancérologie et Immunologie Nantes-Angers - France) "Deciphering Antigen Receptor-mediated NF-kB Activation and Lymphoma Cells Survival"
Abstract: The CARMA1-BCL10-MALT1 (CBM) complex couples signals from antigen receptors in B and T cells to the transcription factor NF-kB, a pivotal event in lymphocyte activation and in cellular homeostasis in the immune system. This signalosome is also instrumental for the unlimited growth and survival of the activated B-cell-like subtype of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. However, the molecular basis that governs the CBM assembly and function continues to be elucidated. Our laboratory investigates how a subtle choreography of reversible ubiquitination and phosphorylation shapes the CBM and proposes ways to manipulate its activity in physiological and physiopathological conditions.
