Our Team has emerged in 2021 to specifically focus on the study of the host and viral factors governing acute and late-onset encephalitis. We are interested in molecular mechanisms influencing viruses’ability to enter and to spread in the central nervous system but also how brain tissue or treatment may lead to virus evolution. Our group benefits from a long expertize of Biosafety level 2 to 4 viruses-host interaction and pathogenesis including Coronavirus and Paramyxovirus.
Our main research is organized in two axes:
Axis 1: understanding how viruses enter and spread in the central nervous system and provoke encephalitis
Axis 2: develop antivirals and treatment to prevent and cure infection with encephalitic viruses
